Terms of Use

By using Berlingo, you agree to these terms. The website and native app may offer different learning modules. Available modules, free content and Pro content are identified in the service. Contact linhdndev@gmail.com if you have questions.

Sign in to use account-based learning and synchronization. The website, iOS app and Android app offer Apple and Google through Firebase. Keep access to the sign-in method you use.

• Progress and Pro access are associated with your Firebase user identifier. Different Apple/Google accounts may have separate progress and purchase access.
• Cached lessons may work offline. Uncached content, streamed media, synchronization, authentication and purchases need a connection.
• Delete account removes your Berlingo profile and learning history and signs you out. Authentication authorization and purchase records controlled by Apple, Google, Firebase or RevenueCat remain subject to those providers’ account controls and retention policies. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Pro unlocks learning content marked Pro, including B1/B2 vocabulary and additional listening, speaking and career-related lessons available in the app. It does not promise access to modules that are not available on your platform.

• Monthly and annual purchases provide Pro during the active subscription period.
• Lifetime is a one-time purchase granting Pro access for the ongoing availability of the Berlingo service, with no automatic renewal. Content catalogs may be updated.
• Use the same Berlingo sign-in account to access your entitlement on supported devices. Use Restore purchases if access is missing; contact support if it cannot be restored.

iOS purchases are billed by Apple through your App Store account. Android purchases are billed by Google through your Google Play account. The purchase screen and the store confirmation show the localized price, billing period and any eligible introductory offer. The website does not take payment.

• Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel in the store where you bought them. To avoid the next renewal charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• If an eligible free trial is offered, its duration and the price charged after it ends are shown before purchase. Cancel in that same store at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid the subsequent subscription charge.
• On iOS, manage or cancel in App Store subscription settings. On Android, manage or cancel in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions. Cancellation stops future renewal; paid access ordinarily continues until the active period ends, subject to the store’s transaction status.
• Buying lifetime does not cancel an existing monthly or annual subscription. Cancel that subscription separately to avoid future charges.
• Apple handles payment issues and refund requests for App Store purchases, and Google handles them for Google Play purchases, under each store’s policies. These terms do not restrict rights you have under applicable law.

Restore purchases is available in Profile and the paywall on iOS and Android. Sign in to the Berlingo account associated with the purchase and use the same App Store or Google Play account used to buy it. RevenueCat verifies the entitlement.

• Deleting your account does not cancel Apple or Google billing, and it does not delete purchase records held by Apple, Google or RevenueCat.
• Changing sign-in accounts may affect restoration under the service’s restore policy. Contact linhdndev@gmail.com if your purchase is associated with another account.

Learning content and third-party media remain subject to their respective owners’ rights. Pro pays for access to Berlingo’s learning experience and does not transfer ownership of videos, audio or texts.

• Do not copy, redistribute or commercially exploit content without the rights holder’s permission.
• Do not use automated tools to bulk-download content or interfere with the service. Embedded media is also subject to the provider’s terms.

Some features depend on device capabilities, network availability and third-party services. iOS shadowing needs microphone and speech recognition permission. Android shadowing needs microphone permission and a device speech service. Web shadowing needs a compatible browser.

• Scores and automated translations are learning aids and can contain errors. They are not an official certification or guarantee of an exam result.
• Where exam practice is available, it is not affiliated with or certified by BAMF or a German government body. Check official sources before an exam.
• We aim to keep the service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to third-party media or error-free operation. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

We may update these terms as the service changes. The current version and update date are published here.
